More mindless vandalism

Post by pvr » Mon Feb 27, 2017 11:15 am

My Audi this time - keyed over three panels whilst visiting my wife's family for a birthday celebration during the day. Parked right in front of their house. No idea what possessed someone to do that (not in anyone's way, not in front of anyone elses house and not a flash car of any sort nor new). Keyed on the road side as well (so not someone passing on the footpath).

No point in reporting it to the police I guess as otherwise it would impact my insurance no doubt.

It is a perfect straight line including underneath the mirror as well, and over too long a distance to be accidental.

Unlikely to be keyed that far away from home though. Only our car keyed though, not the other family's cars that were parked in front and behind me.

Sounds like it's just really bad luck :x
Maybe a body shop can machine polish it out?

Could be someone has had an altercation with an Audi driver at some point, come off worse and is taking retribution on any Audi that is easy pickings.

Whatever the reason it's a pity they survive the birth process... :x

With it being perfectly straight are you sure that someone has keyed it and you havnt driven past something too close that has scored the side?
Most cars you see that are keyed the line looks deliberately wavy up and down the length.

It goes under the door handle as well though, that would be impossible for a car to do that. Also, no bit of any car is that low that it can go inside the door handle and under the mirror without touching the mirror itself.

It also goes over the wheel arch - but it is not straight there. The lines are straight but not horizontal (i.e. more at an angle upwards). Also, the lines do not join up - 50 cm each time on the doors etc.

So sorry to hear what's happened - can never understand why people do this - not much consolation but would have been heartbreaking had it been the Porsche !

Hope you get it sorted soon.

Probably done by some knuckle dragging open mouthed nose breather. Took the shine off your day I am sure.
