What a feat, doubt we will ever see the like again. And in a much more dangerous age compared to modern racing. One of my personal heroes.
They don't make em like that any more.

R.I.P. Mr Surtees.

A wee bit before my era of motorsport viewing but from what I've read definately achieved things that I doubt we'll see again.
That looks like a Vincent twin in the 1st picture.....a mighty steed in it's day.........and a mighty expensive steed now.
A true gentleman racer......RIP

Sad news. Was watching an interview a couple of nights ago he did with Sky F1. Think it was recorded in 2015 but a fascinating watch.

Top bloke and one of me ol fella's heroes. Rip.
Probably totally inappropriate to say here, but I was always mesmerised at just how incredibly red his head was. Sorry, bit random. :| :?

A true star who would have won more races if he had not fallen out with some of the Ferrari hierarchy.
He has a fantastic collection of race bikes and cars .RIP.

Yeah, cross swords with Enzo and "ciao!!"
But it shows great strength and depth of character to stand your ground on what you believe to be correct.

Re. JS's collection of vehicles...I believe the father of an old school friend of mine still has a Vincent Comet that belonged to John.....don't remember it ever being on the road whilst I lived up in Thurso though.

Doesn't really look like the riding style of a guy from his era and certainly not on a Vincent........most undignified on a "gentlemans express!!" :D
