Hi Chris,

Did you build it yourself get one ready built, quite fancy getting one as I'm another valve convert, I tend to run my DAP player through mini valve amps to drive the headphones etc. Do the tubes run hot? They can be a bit pricey ready built but was wandering if safe to use when powerd on 24/7?

Cheers,

Tim.

I built it from scratch Tim.
Got the tubes from ebay from a guy in Belarussia about 10 years ago as a plan to use them for something one day.
Good luck with finding a set of 6 NOS tubes for 100 quid these days!
Got the board kit from ebay too and theyre ten-a-penny. they come in kit form or ready made. if you're handy with a soldering iron you'll def enjoy the satisfaction of putting it together yourself!

I also have a few tube headphone amps. The Littledot mk3 with Mullard tubes sounds insane. Insane in the membrane :D

Thanks for the info Chris  I've been looking at the kits, ready built you're looking from 200 quid for a decentish one, just need to weigh up if I get the kit I will actually build it  but sounds like a relaxing thing to do.

I've just bought a Nobsound amp, with 2 valves for 28 quid, bargain :)

yer. thought those little nobsound amps looked cute, good value but sadly not a total analogue/tube path. there's IC's at the amp stage sadly.
how does it sound? what tubes have you rolled?
this has turned into a tube amp thread now. lol sorry op :?

Sounds pretty good depending on what you have pushing through it, can't grumble for the price,

I've had a Ross Amplifier for years hooked up to a pair of Mordaunt and short speakers and been pleased with it.
