Not read that it could follow you though.
It uses GPS and GLONASS simultaneously, locks on upto 20 sats, everytime I've powered it up, it has gotten to 20 within a few seconds.

Amazingly well! You just draw a box around the subject on the screen and click ok, it will then either follow behind, at the side or circle you amongst other modes, all at a height and distance you choose. I took some video from it following me in the various modes earlier, but will need to take to the shop to upload tomorrow, as we only get a 1mb upload speed here, and they are BIG files.

First go at "follow me" - You select the mode, and draw a box around the "target" on screen, then set the height and distance you want, and go..

It lost me for a second at the first big tree as I should have set it a little different, I adjusted it and it didn't lose me again on the next tree, I'm impressed...

God I need a shave!

Mind you, I'll need some more practice before I attempt this. Oh, I'll need to learn to ski as well...

The drone with 1 battery is around £1k. I went for the "fly more" combo, comes with 2 extra batteries, a charging hub (allows you to charge 4 batteries) car charger, carry bag and a few extra bits, price was £1,359 I haggled £40 off, would have liked more, but they are like rocking horse sh1t at the mo, very few places have physical store stock.

Yup, I spent ages looking on YouTube, looked at the other DJI ones, but just too big and noisy, the Mavic had nothing but good reviews and I can see why. It's a doddle to fly, and there are loads of safeguards like obstacle avoidance and RTH (return to home) should it lose contact with the controller, not that I plan on trying out it's 4.3 mile range anytime soon! I flap when I can't actually see it in the sky!!

The fact that it folds up so neat clinched it for me, means I can take it on days out with the kids, or if we go out on bikes or walks, The Snowdonia video I saw really tipped the boat for me though, I mean how fantastic to create memories like this? And this vid is only in 720p, the 4k quality on a big TV is unbelieveable, every bit as good as a BluRay.

Or just me and the Zed :)

It will happily follow a car like that, with the controller just put on the seat, no intervention needed!
