Karcher K4 Premium Pressure Washer

Post by LewisB » Sun Apr 16, 2017 12:51 am

Wickes have got an extra 15% off this weekend, so it would under £130: http://www.wickes.co.uk/Karcher-K4-Prem ... r/p/156517

My question is, is the K4 safe to use on the Zed? As in is it too powerful?

It appears that Karcher do this model and a full control model. Should I be buying the full control?

Any advice appreciated.

It will be fine to use on the zed.

I would look for a nilfisk though as they have metal pump bodies, where as the Karchers are plastic.

I had that one before replacing it with a k7. Two problems.. one; the top mounted reel made it really easy to tip over and two; the hose is quite a stiff plastic and not very flexible.

I paid much more for it than £127. So recon it's ok value at that price.

I replaced it with a k7 on offer at Homebase for £200. Much more powerful, bigger patio cleaner, no top reel, works on its side and best of all a 10m rubber hose.

If I had none and both were on offer I'd buy the K7 without hesitation.
now I'm about to have more time I've suddenly got less toys to play with!

We have one and this sums it up, though to be fair the manual tells you to operate with it laid flat.

If it was me I'd buy the one from ALDI at £79.99, made by Karcher and 3 year warranty.

As above also budget for a rubber hose. I bought. 15M one which is long enough to get everywhere without having to move the pressure washer and easy to use all year round as. It's flexible where as the plastic hoses supplied are horrible.

I have an K4 - and purchased an 10M rubber hose - big improvement.

Regarding plastic pump - dont' let it get frozen - as it will break it

I had an Aldi one for around 6 or 7 years, worked fine until I let it freeze and the plastic pump casing split, out of warranty and repaired quite cheaply by a specialist in Manchester. Then last year something went adrift with the trigger mechanism so I unloaded it for a Karcher K4, which is OK just. ALDI is very good value for the money.

Not sure what model mine is, Karcher, but the foam gadget has never worked. Interesting about rubber hose though.

I've got the k4 full control hone premium kit as wanted the patio washer. It replaced the TWO failed Nilfisk ones I had. As said, the hose is a bit stiff, but other than that it's fine.

Twin Turbo what hose did yoy get and how much?

I've taken a gamble and bought the Aldi pressure washer for £79.99.

I haven't used it it yet, I'll save that treat until next weekend. For my first foray into the world of pressure washers I thought it was worth a punt!

Good move Mr Lewis, did you think about the patio cleaner as well, they are very useful (if you have paths or drives to clean)

I didn't when I bought it, but I'm thinking it's quite a cheap addition so I'll probably pop back in the next few days.

I'm looking forward to setting it up next weekend, is that sad? :D
