Ok, so after my little hospital stay, I got a call last night from my Snap On dealer. Now this is strange, because I don't owe him any money at the moment

So he wanted to know if I was at home, which I obviously was, as he was calling up to see me...

20 mins later he knocked on the door, and was standing outside next to a LARGE box. So I asked him what it was, and he said "a present from your wife.."

Turns out she decided to cheer me up a bit and knew I had been "in discussion" with Steve regarding how much discount he was going to give me on this particular item. I had gotten him to 15% off list, but was still "haggling" and not too bothered if it took a few more weeks.

Anyway, she had phoned him whilst I was laid up and explained that she wanted to buy said item, but if she paid more than I had haggled, that I wouldn't be happy. Long story, he knocked the additional 5% off that I'd been after (I know he has a 30% margin on this stuff, as I almost became a Snap On dealer myself about 10 years ago)

So, what did she get me?

Answers on a postcard please....

Needless to say, I am VERY happy AND my "trusty old" one of these will shortly be for sale, so will post up a thread...

Nope, not a toolbox, hell would freeze over before I paid Snap On £4k for one the same as I paid £480 for in Costco a couple of years ago...
