Was it just me or did some of the Labour MP's look a little sheepish with false smiles. People have short memories don't they :(

There's always a bright spot in any election... apart from Cleggy getting payback, this one is rather pleasing:

It is indeed the young that generally vote for them as they think they will gain (the freebies). When they get older, they suddenly find out that they have to pay for those freebies from days gone by and get wiser and vote differ
As you would expect I don't accept such a broadbrush statement about the young - what I do see is a swathe of young voters who previously hadn't voted but now realise they can make a difference .
I would think younger voters are getting their information from other sources and not the BBC or Newspapers. Most of their info will come from social media and the internet. Whether this is a biased view or not it cant be any different from what you get from the TV or papers, just maybe the opposite way around.
The problem with social media as a primary source of information is that you don't get a balanced view. It 'learns' your preferences and feeds you more of the same...

Have to agree with pvr as well - younger people tend to be more idealistic and optimistic (and remember a cynic is an optimist with experience :D ), are more inclined to take risks and have more life in front of them to put right the mistakes they make.

It's a thread with a 'politics' theme - fairly apt that people quote in it using the same techniques that politicians use.... :P

I do apologise I should have left the other bit in. It doesnt really make too much of a difference as at least with social media you make the choice yourself instead of it being forced on you. They definately feed you more of the same so they are quite similar.
I am on the wrong side of a fight here though
