I have had my Seamaster serviced at a local agent.
It now looses 10 seconds a day when worn or nothing if left on the desk on its back.
Can this be correct ? I always thought the escapement mech was to correct this?

1.5 sec per day, its a modified 7750 and should be accurate for years without needing service.

He's had four attempts! I don't feel inclined to give him another one - The same fella serviced my wife's Rolex and after two weeks it's accurate to whithin a couple of seconds.
I think my next stop is trading Standards and the Card Company.

Just out of interest, did it have a problem pre service? I've had 3 Seamasters and never had them serviced, always super accurate.
Why is it that people who can't take advice always insist on giving it?

For some time pre service, the watch was running slow. I thought that indicated that a service was due.
I had previously put the watch including bracelet into my ultrasonic cleaner to clean the collected gunk and it worked a treat. The latest dunking stopped the thing. A new balance was fitted when the watch was service.
The watch lost nothing when laid horizontaly on my bedside cabinet . I will try it vertically tomorrow .

Just been advised that section 75 of the consumer credit act isn't much help - they need me to get a second opinion to show that the repairer has done something wrong and they cannot include the new parts fitted in the disputed costs.
