Disconnected seat switch?
I have this rocker switch on the right had side of the driver seat in my 2019 20i.
It doesn't seem to do anything, should it?

This should adjust the width of the rest.
You should download the BMW driver's guide App.

Disconnected seat switch?
I have the PDF manual downloaded and the only pages that talk about seat controls show the controls for the fully adjustable electric seats but I dont have any of the other controls, just the rocker switch which seems to do nothing. I assumed the seat has no electric features, so why does it have the switch?

That would seem to be the case, but the manual shows 4 buttons, but as you can see from the photo my seat only has 1, and a blank. So Its not clear from the official documentation if that button is the same button, despite the fact it looks "similar".
As it turns out after holding the button down for a few seconds it actually DOES do something, but the total range of adjustment seems to be pretty limited. I dont know if something is broken on my seat but the fact that the adjustment is barely noticeable is why i thought it didnt work.

It’s some sort of lumbar support, on my car it seems to move the seat side cushions in or out making the seat width around the lower back adjustable. I suffer from sciatica and find that setting it to a narrow width helps somewhat.
TBH, I didn’t realise it was there on my first G29, it was only when I bought my new G29 and the sales guy pointed it out.

The second button is the lumbar support. It brings the backrest curvature a bit to you or more up and down. But this is an option and your car don't have it.mrwkuk wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 11:50 pmThat would seem to be the case, but the manual shows 4 buttons, but as you can see from the photo my seat only has 1, and a blank. Yeh thats fine, i was just pointing out that the manual is terrible. Most other car manuals usually show different pages if there are "options". Like they would show the one page with all 4 switches, but also one with just 2, and one with just 1, so it was clear what the buttons do under different configurations rather than having to add a bit of guesswork to it. If my car had blanks for the other two switches it might not be so obscure.crz4 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 6:55 amThe second button is the lumbar support. Try the BMW driver's guide App with your FIN. Then you should have a nearly individual manual.

Disconnected seat switch?
A couple of confused replies with mixed info.
The lumber support is the circular button as per this image from the manual;
The rocker for the back ‘width’ aka the wing bolsters on the seat which tighten and are designed to ‘grip’ you is the one in this pic from the manual; This is the rocker switch you have in yours
I note the lumber circular switch has a blanking plate, so it may be if your rocker switch does nothing, and you believe your seats to have no electric function perhaps there was simply no blanking plate design and the plastic switch is there to fill the gap (unusual I would imagine though!
Anyone else got a blanking cover for this or a switch that does nothing ?
