Z4M MAF and/or TPS

Post by Phil-E30 » Fri Aug 28, 2015 5:36 pm

Hi guys,

Just asking on the off-chance that someone has a MAF or TPS (or both) for a Z4M going spare?

Happy to take working used or new.

Thanks

I may have a spare maf Phil, I'll have a root around. It's off my old M3 before I did the CSL airbox conversion on that with alpha-n, was working just fine, oem item(same part number for Z4M), just need to remember where I put it!

Have a spare TPS which I'd be happy to send along if you're trying to problem solve. I'd want that back though ideally.

Cheers

I probably won't understand the answer, but please further my Zed education. What is a MAF or a TPS?

Thanks

Hi guys, I'd be really keen to take the MAF off either of you. Tom, I would be happy to take the MAF and then, depending on the results, borrow the TPS?

RickRob, MAF = Mass Air Flow meter, TPS = throttle position sensor.

MAF measures volume & temp of air being drawn into the engine and adjusts fuelling to match.

TPS are 2 potentiometer that measure 1) where the throttle pedal is and 2) where the throttle bodies are.

Apologies RickRob, should have been clearer than simply clarifying the acronym!
