Falken HS449 winter tyres on BMW Type 32 wheels - sold

Post by Half Colin » Sun Sep 10, 2017 12:20 pm

I have a set of Falken HS449 Eurowinter tyres, bought last year and all with 8mm of tread, on a set of genuine BMW Type 32 wheels, for sale at £350 collected from Leicester.

The wheels are staggered fit:

Rear 255/35 on 8.5Jx18 ET50.
Front 225/40 on 8Jx18 ET47.

The wheels were refurbished in gun metal grey a few years ago now and some corrosion is starting to show through. This hasn't really bothered me as they're only for winter use.

The tyres alone are over £500 so grab yourself a bargain.

I pulled out. Shame as I've always liked the style 32, classy and old school. These fit the z4 perfectly too.

I'm nowhere near Leicester, but if they didn't have winter tyres on them I'd have had them!

I put winters on my daily so the Z4 is rested if the weather gets really cr*p!

I wonder if I could sell the tyres though.....?

I'd be very interested in just the Style 32's.
Don't need the tyres as just bought Dunlop WinterSport 5s to put on a set of 17" Style 32's.

Sorry Nick, I picked them up this afternoon.

Out of curiosity which 17" Style 32s do you have? Are they staggered ones off an E39? And if so, how do they fit on a Z4?

The reason I ask is that I saw this set on Gumtree that is only 2 miles from me, whereas "halfcolin" was 125 miles away! :(

https://www.gumtree.com/p/wheel-rims-ty ... 1266672717

But when I rang the Gumtree seller it seems they are staggered 17s off an E39 with 8J fronts and 9J rears with ET20 and they needed spigot rings on an E46. I wanted genuine wheels that would fir straight on without any rubbing issues, spacers, spigot rings, etc. which is why I went for "halfcolin"s set. But the Gumtree seller did say he also had a set of Style 32 replicas without tyres that would be much cheaper.

If either of those options would work for you maybe you could speak to the seller - I'd be happy to take a look at them if you pm me.

Cheers.

I think they are off an E46. Non-staggered 8J. Definitely not E39 as E39's have very different offsets. I can't remember the exact ET and they are stashed away in a lock-up until November when they get re-furbed and fitted. I'm hoping that as they are E46 fitment hey will go straight onto my Z4C without any issues.

I'm now looking for a set of Style 32's in staggered 18" with E46 fitment, as they are going on an E46 !

Thanks - if you've got four 8Js I'd guess you've got 4 front wheels. The OEM E46 ones are staggered with 8J fronts and 8.5J rears (like the set I just got)!

Interesting that you are putting them on an E46 - I've got one of them as well!

But mine is currently on 17s:-

A lot of E46 17" wheelsets are non-staggered. My 328i Touring has a set of non-staggered 17" Style 73's.
18" is often staggered.
The wheels I am looking for will go on a 330Ci trackday car.
