No worries, this is the description from a website for the scoop:

''Convert your stock intake system to a ram air type with our ram air scoop. The ram air system captures incoming air from behind the front kidney grill and forces it into the factory intake ducting. The pressured cold air increases engine performance and efficiency. Expect 8-12whp at 70mph winds. Note: Also fits non-M models.''

I'm not sure if there are any downsides, I haven't heard of any.

Installation is straight forward and takes 10-15 minutes max.
8-12whp is this on a forced induction engine surely that's not N/A engine gains?. The bmw oem design should already have ram air function on stock air box

This is my understanding too, this part is not pressurised as such as its not forced or drawn in, so not actually 'ram' air.
It simply just scoops up more clean air and and is a 'cold air' intake, not ram air.
Other than a slight improvement to running, I would question any real power increase claimed.

Is there any dyno printout proof to backup any gains of 8-12 whp using this scoop method?.
