eBay is probably your best bet.

the only useful thing in mine is the wheel nut key. I'm wondering what breakdown could be fixed with the toolkit supplied?

good luck with your search
now I'm about to have more time I've suddenly got less toys to play with!

+1 isn't the Z4 tool kit, a few spanners, a double end screwdriver, a toeing eye and some fuses?

I didn't realise there was one! It's not like the e46 which has one integrated into the boot lid...
Had a quick ebay  apparently its this:

^^ That's the one, but you don't have the fuses - a small pack of various fuse amperage.

+1. I wouldn't want to face much more than a blown fuse with the standard tool kit.

In my case it was the towing eye that I needed....the police wanted to tow me off the road as I was causing carnage  I did have a good root around in the battery housing but it's not there. I did check eBay but couldn't find one...will have another look.... tbf it's not much of a tool kit...but I do want that towing eye lol

The towing eyes can be bought on their own for a few quid if that's all you are after.

The toolkit pictured above is about £20 on ebay. If you want just a towing eye expect to pay about £10.
I'd try a local breakers yard though as there may be one sitting in there that they'll let you have for next to nothing.

My tool kit has a angled alan type key too. Won't any BMW towing eye fit, can't see them making loads of different threads and shapes, worth poping down to your local breakers and seeing if another BM one fits
