Hmm.. vivid racing who stocks WP brakes, have no info on WP bbk for e86/85. Nor do they list any replacement parts. And WP website itself is a shambles, unable to even select make and model.. and that's in 4 different browsers.

I assume they're for a non-M e85/86 too!

Have tried (via 4 browsers) to find out via the WP website, but it's quite a slow website (considering there's nothing complicated on the page) and the vehicle selection drop-downs keep disappearing off the page, so I can't select the right vehicle.

For a grand, these might make an excellent brake upgrade for Machine Monkey's turbo-nutter-mobile!

Edited to say I was composing an identical response when Vanne posted his follow-up :P

Thats true. manufactureres use multiple pots to achieve more consistent spreading of pressure on large pads, sometimes regulating amounts of different pressure on the front and rear of the pads
mmm-five wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2017 10:37 am Does anyone else think that that the swept area looks smaller than OEM CSL discs - but that of course could be an optical illusion, or made up by the pad covering more arc of the disc.
Looks that way but its hard to be sure, as the disc itself is also larger (360mm)
Vanne wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2017 12:34 pm The dics do look strange, and a close up of them would be great. Nearly looks like they are full floaters?
I think the fronts are full floating and the rears arent.
One has to ask themselfs if full floating is desireable because of the extra noise.
I wonder if they have retaining springs to lessen the noise.

But thats mainly whats wrong with this ad. Its dodgy as hell.
For about the same amount of money you can get either a basic bbk front&rear (not floating) from a premium manufacturer (ap/stoptech), or a front/rear full floating fully customized (colour, size etc) from a normal manufacturer (d2 brakes etc).
In this ad you're not really sure what you're getting (partnumbers, system, etc etc), what the status of any warranty is, and you obviously cant pick colour etc.
But he's open to offers

They would have at a grand. But I already have a very well set up and upgraded brake set up. Using brembo calipers. That said if I had a grand knocking around I would have had a good look at these.

But at £4K
My little blue zed is in lots of bits. With lots of things started and not many finished! I may have found the limits of my time and ability!!

JAD wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2017 12:00 pm Stay well away from these. The thread is hard to follow on Facebook but from my reading (granted, assumption);

- bought for £1,000
- has realised they're not for an E89 as they're missing the electronic hand brake piece
- thinks he can fit the fronts but deciding to flog them for £4k...

Having been conned for £200 when I was 17, I'll be reporting this post and user. Not interested in con men.
I'm an honest guy not pushing these on anyone just thought I'd post them up if anyone happened to be looking for a racing set. These were custom made for a z4 customer thats all I know.

I bought them as listed at auction for a 2016 z4 which turned out to be the wrong info, but hey we live and learn.

The electronic handbrake piece you refer to is only relevant to the e89 which these are not for.

I am thd guy who posted on Facebook.

I ain't out to rip anyone off or con anyone, I'm nothing like that.

Cheers

Vanne wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2017 12:34 pm :? Fark, not sure what the go is, WP DO make great racing brakes for bikes, nfi about cars though.

The dics do look strange, and a close up of them would be great. Nearly looks like they are full floaters? If it is a legit WP kit, then no idea how old mate got them for 1k pounds.. anyhows the kit actually looks very nice.. no idea about performance either.. and if it's a one off, how about replacement parts when the time comes??
These are WP brakes I've been chatting with the director Ibrahim and he can clarify. These are a serious racing kit, one off custom made for a Z4.
$6k-$7k is the sale price from WP.

Replacement parts I've been told are not an issue.

The company have been awesome with responding to all my questions.
