Post by Hilly30si » Wed May 31, 2017 12:59 pm

I hah my stearing wheel redfurbished at Royal last year and purchased at great expense the trims from BMW cost £160. I have since had the old ones stripped and refinished professionally and they are superb.

Selling at £95 inc P&P

What is the new finish applied?
The same soft effect as OEM or a harder matt paint?

I'd have had them if it inluded the switch housings was hoping to be able to do a straight swap, save me having time with the car in pieces whilst I get the trims sprayed but as my switches are in the same shape as the rest of the trims may as well do them all together.

They do look to be finished really well though great deal for someone who has undamaged switches to swap in

Can I just confirm, are you selling the BMW ones you bought or the refinished old ones?

Thanks for the clarity. If I may, and not to start an argument, why are you selling these? If they're a harder paint finish and just as good as original, would it not be best to stick with them? Hope that doesn't come across as inflammatory!

Not at all. The reason I am selling them is I no longer have the car which means the new ones went with car at sale

It makes sense to swap the good ones in then the car isn't in pieces whilst you get the old ones fixed

I have just had a standard wheel recovered at Royals. It arrived today. I've had it finished in the 'M' style but not quite as thick. I had planned to remove the silver trims from my existing wheel and transfer them to the new wheel. Do you think your trims would fit? They look very nice and if they would fit I would be interested.

Perfect answer, thanks. I think I'd like to take these - car is currently away having some fettling so need to re look at the wheel when back this Saturday. Will drop you a line to discuss if these are still available then.

Not that it matters, as it's been answered, but that was my point - why get rid of the better ones now there is a replacement set. I'm sure you can understand my questioning of the quality of the respray job.
