Hey all,

This is in great shape, took it out to fit a shorter one to the race car.

Any questions or offers let me know,

Cheers,

Just so you know, that will fit a facelift, but isn't the right ratio, as they changed to 3.46:1 on the facelift.

Not 3.46:1 but 3.23:1 on the 3.0si roadster manual

this ratio (3.07:1) was afaik only used on the 3.0i prefacelift manual roadster

And this diff doesnt fit all z4's; the lesser engines (2.2 and some 2.5) have smaller drive flanges with weaker driveshafts.
Although you can fairly easily swap those drive flanges.
The 2.0 has a complete smaller diff afaik.

You're selecting the e86; thats the coupe ;)
The roadster has the 3.23:1 diff.
(so yes, the 3.0si roadster and 3.0si coupe have different diff ratio's :) )

The TS is selling an e85 diff (as listed in the ad)

Well you learn something everyday, that's both an interesting one and a strange one. I wonder why they used a different ratio si coupe to si roadster. Anyone know the answer?

Believe it's to keep the performance figures the same when the weight of the car is different.

Interesting. I didn't think there was any real significant difference between the si coupe and si roadster weight wise.

Can't see them using a different diff for a measly 10kg of weight. Like I said bit of an odd one this but BMW must have had a reason. After all it would of been cheaper/easier to produce more of the same than add another part into the supply chain that was coupe specific
