At my cousins wedding this weekend. Guy there obviously clocked the ///M and in conversation with him at the reception asked me if I "was the guy with the TVR"; I very nearly spat my Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc out over him! After eventually convincing him it wasnt a TVR (took a few minutes) he looked confused and proceeded to tell me he though he knew a lot about cars and had "never seen one of those before".

Anyone else had similar conversations?

had a 1998 porsche boxster a few years back and a work mate thought it was an mgf nearly punched him he's the type of guy who thinks a car is for just getting from A-B

Someone's husband visited their wife at my work.. He said to someone else:

"I'll have to ask for a job here, you must be getting paid well! Have you seen that modified BMW with the extra exhausts in the car park?!?!"

I overheard him and replied "It's not modified, and it cost me the price of a new Mondeo."
