Thank you. Been trying to get some ideas from your car - but can't see most of the pictures because it looks like I need to be a paid member of Photbucket to do so!

If you're looking for wheel ideas and want an alternative to CSLs, I always liked the look of this combo:

They are Apex ARC-8s. Car will ride and handle a bit better on 18s too.
It definitely was!
They look amazing!
I think I've seen that car before , this view...

Looks amazing!
They're a really good wheel. Very strong and light (save's about 17kg over CSLs from recollection). You can get them in 19 also but I went for 18 in anthracite which I've always thought suits IB (had the same on my last m3).

And on my old anthracite CSLs

Enjoy the car
Tom - what size are them CSLs?
Is the suspension set up OEM as the car sits in that picture?

They're BMW ones, so 19". I'm almost certain that was taken when the car was on the standard suspension, but not 100%, and in terms of arch gap the ground on my drive there is not particularly level so don't take much notice of that, they looked good though. Also that was running 225/40 fr & 255/35 rear as opposed to the standard CSL size of 235/35 fr & 265/30, so there's more sidewall than usual. A better ride than the super low profile 30 rear on the CSL, and the same width as OEM spec. It also has the added advantage of making the rolling radius the same size as the OEM 18" setup so speedo etc remains the same

those APEX look the business, this car looks imo so purposeful with an aggressive 18" with Thick tyres, it completely changes the way the car looks and sits. Very cool.

Awesome, thank you for that.

Did you ever try them with spacers?

If I'm going from my 18s to the 19s will I need to get the Geo done do you reckon?

I'm a big fan of the APEX too, if some cheap used ones came up for sale I'd have them.

Without boring you too much those wheels are actually CS wheels which are the exact same as the CSL rear and a sightly thinner (8") front which I ran with a spacer to be somewhere near what a CSL front would be. There are plenty on here I'm sure that have run spacers with CSLs, certainly there's room at the rear I think.

Not if you keep the same rolling radius. If you change that by going to say a 19" on 235/35, 265/30, then yes you probably should.

10mm spacer on the front axle is perfect with CSLs or reps with the same offsets.

I'm going up to 265/35 and 235/40 sizes to improve the ride/handling. Only done the rears so far. Looks like a sexy tractor! :D

Congratulations on this. Funnily enough, we both have the same old car - S2000 - and I've also picked up a Z4MC which was ALSO located in Edinburgh! Small world! ALSO ALSO ALSO have the CSLs, and YES. Do it. You must.

Photos of mine are on this forum and the gallery one also, though a different blue. Like your gunmetal alloys on this. Let me know if you're in the Berkshire/Bucks area and we can 'compare notes'. :-)

Tom
Haha!
There seem to be so many in Edinburgh - when I was looking I saw a few nice examples located up there.
I miss the S2000 gearbox a little - how do you find they compare?
The S still takes the prize here. it's lighter and tighter. However, the M gearbox feels suited to the heavy nature of the power delivery. Not had any issues with it so far - fingers crossed.

Ah ok fair enough. That's good to know.
The ones I'm looking sound like the CSL ones - 8.5J at the front - can I stick with your tyre size recommendation above to keep the same rolling radius?

Is the ride much much stiffer on the 19s? Compared to the standard 18s I have on at the moment?
