Go for it. The engine is a masterpiece.
And apparently you get a free kennel thrown in with every Coupe. JUST WATER PROOF THE BATTERY.

Not just a free kennel, the rear window doubles up as a self-filling water bowl - looks like BMW missed a marketing angle there...

Stop dithering and do it while there are still some great ones out there. I had mine for over 5 years and loved the beast. Just don't pretend you can use it as a daily driver or shopping cart, that will kill it's exhaust sensors rather quickly. You will fall in love with the looks, sounds, acceleration howl and cornering excitement this car will give you.

Hmmm , Practicality never enters my mind when I see two seat M’ s. Ditto the question
I read a bit more, q answered, they would fit on the floor, ........ for a minute or two.

Considering an e86M
Hi all, I'm currently owner of a e86 Z4 3.0si, black, with full leather on doors, 8x professional HP, brown nappa leather on sports seats, 18" wheels, GPS.
This car rules at half the price of a Z4MC.
Anyway, I've found a similar Z4MC... Same options and colors... and I can't help wondering if I should pay double price to get the ''M'' experience.
HOW DO THE 2 ENGINES / CARS COMPARES?
Is there a big difference in performance?
I know the Z4MC is rare, but here in France it's around 40000 € for a 50000 km car... And only 20000€ for a coupé 3.0si...
Comments from experienced owners are welcome.

I did the same move from 3.0si to M, the 3.0si is a much better daily driver, lighter steering at low speeds, very good fuel economy for an engine of its size, even when pushing on. The m is a whole different beast, much more visceral, heavier steering but much more feedback and involvement, none of that mid-corner bum tightening vagueness and needing lots of adjustment, the s54 is an absolute peach as others have said but requires care, proper warming up (about 7 miles for me) and on the button maintenance, it's rough when cold and sounds like a bag of spanners but a symphony when up to temp and up the revs.
Brakes are so much better than the s.i. too. The performance might not be much more on paper but in the real world it's on another level, especially acelleration from higher speeds, and the sound of that engine! Eargasm compared to modern BMW turbo M power lumps imo.
It's a fantastic package but the suspension needs upgrading if you want to get the best out of it.
Do it, you won't regret it, but your bank account might!

Do you own a mechanical or an automatic one?
And do you recommend the non GPS version or a GPS version?

There are no auto/smg Z4Ms AFAIK, the sat nav/gps is old and dated, I don't use it really but it's useful for displaying info such as miles to empty, time, etc. or showing the road layout if driving in the dark, but you can display that info on the speedo digital screen obc anyway so I'd say don't worry too much about having it. Much better to just carry a Garmin or Tomtom for when needed.atticus wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2017 1:47 pmThanks for your great feedback!!!bmwaddict wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2017 11:33 am The performance might not be much more on paper but in the real world it's on another level, especially acelleration from higher speeds, and the sound of that engine! You're right. My Z4 3.0si has 90000kms now, so I should admit I'd like an engine with less kilometers and that will stay iconic.elevensies wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2017 10:05 am similar, only just though....

To get 1 of the 2000 Z4M is probably a way to get a "collector" car.
There's many Z4M available, but very few have less than 50000kms, and even few meet my requirements : full leather on door, professionnal sound with 8-10HP, no GPS and Brown or red leather...
Am I asking too much ?
