Good deal on front discs...
I had the Performance friction pads all round on my M3, whilst good when pushing on, they were very poor when cold, much worse than standard.

Is what you need. I think I got mine from ASPtrading.co.uk but it was a good while ago now. Quick google search turned up this which looks like an unbelievably good deal if it's genuine (and in stock)... http://www.ppcgb.com/products/performan ... ads-039411

Doesn't add up. I have them on my E46 M3 right now and they are perfect from cold - no issues whatsoever. Are you sure you had the .11 compound?

Nice...I'll get a set of those ordered. Will report back on the initial view once I've changed the discs/pads at the end of the month.

What doesn't add up? Performance pads that work at higher temps are generally not very good when cold, this is the case for most performance pads, some more so than others.
I knew them as PF Z rated, otherwise I can't remember, it was 3 years ago. When stone cold they were poor though, once I had to stamp on the brake to slow the car up to make a turn I wasn't expecting when stone cold, much harder than if 'normal' pads were fitted. This is why I now go for Ferodo Premiers when doing pads.

It doesn't add up in that your experience of the cold performance is so different to mine. I know that the older .10 compound wasn't as good in this respect so maybe that is the answer.
