After listening to voice of reason, I am sorry to announce my Roadster is for the chop.
The big plans I had for the car were shot down by the woman that brought me into the world. Every bloke is a mommies boy (whether you admit it or not you are) and deep down knows she talks sense.
It went like this
Rebuilding the M mom..........got the answer, are you stupid, 5k here 3k there 5K there. Get a grip, chop the car and buy one in mint condition. Cars nothing but hassle.
Very very sad moment actually devastated
So plans are to sell everything, finish my 84’ Alpina B9 and buy a pristine example.

Makes sense really, you'll get more for the parts that the thing is worth, so put that towards buying a warmed up properly/accident free one!

Be interesting to see what a non running accident repaired MR is actually worth broken for spares i can't see much more than £4k ? Spares or repair ? £6k - £7k ?
After the time its taken so far & the money spent which i can only guess was around £15k in total you may as well get the car running & get back as much as possible

Sorry to hear this mate, especially after all the work you've done. Is there no way you can get it back on the road again?
What happened anyway, the last I seen you lunched your engine.

Interested in this too. Never seen anyone scrap an M unless it was seriously mashed.
We are not all mummy's boys either as mine is a waste of space... I do love Mothers day as it saves me a few quid.

If it’s roadworthy and it’s only the bottom end that’s stopping it running, fix it and sell it.
If the whole engine is stuffed, I’d find an engine from a written off E46 M3 and take the parts you require to fix yours then sell the car and the usable bits left from the donor engine.
You’ll get buttons for a rebuilt write off with a lunched engine.....
I think your best plan was to transplant a V8 or V10. The latter has been done in the uk by a forum member who has a brilliant build thread. I’m sure he could give you some advice if you went down that road.

Give up with it to be fair. There becomes a time when you just have to say enough is enough.
I’m never going to have the right mentality to stop things from getting broken. Every set of traffic lights or junctions, I used to perfect my launch. But it was alway a launch to Vmax.
