Hi flimper, no warranty cost in my calculations. Thinking about it though, the TVR came with 2 year warranty when i bought it but my calculation is based only on the maintenance work that I paid for. if you factor in the work done under warranty it would come in nearer £2.7k per year! I take your (implied) point that adding a BMW warranty will add another £1k+ but I probably won't go down that route.
Cheers.

Other than that a set of tyres and a s**t load of cash on mods and storage space to keep them for years in the cupboards before fitting them

Very much pot, kettle, black.

Just ask him about his first aid box. I won’t even mention the garage.

Have to agree with the above, I love TVRs and have come close to buying a couple in the past, I'm so glad I bought the z4m, I like to think of it as a German TVR, surprisingly big personality and character for a German car, and apart from petrol and tax, quite decent running costs for a 10 year old, 350bhp car from standard. I'm daily driving mine at the moment, but then again I am mad...

I think you're the sensible one, it's the ones that don't drive the damn thing who are mad imo.

Have you not thought of just getting a rebuild on the TVR? £5k for a 3 year unlimited warranty.

Just seems a shame to sell a TVR at the moment due to running costs and problems when they are doing nothing but surging in price.
