Seat reupholstering..?

Post by Argenta » Wed Dec 13, 2017 12:44 am

Has anybody reupolstered their driver seat?
I happened to get hold of new cushions for a decent price, seat & backrest.

Seat reupholstering..?

No, but I have stripped both seats down when I fitted the heating elements. A time consuming, fiddly job. Has the foam started to go on the drivers bolster?

I haven't done that, but I wouldn't bother - I'd just look for leather seats and budget accordingly!
Coupes because stunning!

Ha! Truth, thanx a lot, just what I need!
Same with mine, mainly the backrest is a bit saggy on the outside while the leather is perfect.

I’ve been looking out for tan seats/door inlays but they never come!
If they do I’ll have a mint set of black, manual, heated M-seats for keeps or sale.

The leather at the bottom of the seat in mine has gone all stretched and twisted from the seating-in motion when entering the car. All that with less than 30k mile. The bolster in the back of the driver's seat is in good condition, though. I'm thinking of replacing the centre sections of the back and bottom of both seats with caramel/biscuit Alcantara. Nice contrast with the black napa leather

I can recommend 2 re upholstery companies in brum. One is a family friend http://www.spiritofthe50s.co.uk/ and the other is the company that does the refurbs for car SOS http://www.bespokeleathering.com/

It’s far better refurbing your own seats as apposed to finding another set. Also finding a set in good shape...... your pissing in the wind. A brand new set of M seats from the stealers are around 6k (I actually enquired out of curiosity). Refurbishing will give you a brand new seats
