Re: BMW Car Magazine – My Z4M CSL – Pushing the Envelope
Great write up mate..
Following on from my last qtn re mapping, are you able to give me/PM the details of guys who mapped your alpha N s/ware as not many have been able to do this on the Z4M's ECU. It's just that i'm thinking of upgrading to a CSL Box in the new year and this is one of the main sticking points (aside of the £££)
I think the next thing for you to do is get the car out on track with few of us in the new year so we can all drull over it

Re: BMW Car Magazine – My Z4M CSL – Pushing the Envelope
Good write up, followed the various articles and evolution over the months.
One thing I'm interested to know, is it actually noticeably faster in a straight line or round a track. I know its not the 'be all and end all', but it would good to quantify the differences
Btw, if you ever want to sell it, let me know

Love this car. I would love to know who you use to insure it, as I asked more than if I could change my air filter & they said no!

Flatout, I noticed you have the Strong Strut Brace. I was going to go for that mod a while back but never got around to it as part of my chassis changes.
How did you find it 'Strong Strut Brace' after the installation? Any noticeable difference?
Also here's the video if found comparing the performance differences between with 3 M3 e46: standard diff, 3.91 & 4.10.

Re: BMW Car Magazine – My Z4M CSL – Pushing the Envelope
Here are some pics of the hard top installed. I'm looking to get it re-sprayed in imola red and also playing with the idea of getting the wing part carbon-fibre wrapped. Also not sure if the middle part can be carbon wrapped like a CSL. However have to say it doesn't look to bad in black though, lol
Hopefully the AC-Sch rear wings shall arrive soon too. Then get it lived mapped and that will be it, get some recorded times (0-60 - 0-100) etc at the track ...... however one mod I forgot about was the Strong strut brace....

I think it looks pretty great in black! No need to paint it IMO.

I agree with ga41

Re: BMW Car Magazine – My Z4M CSL – Pushing the Envelope
I no what you mean. It goes well with the carbon black theme I got going on with the car, even thought of just carbon wrapping the whole hard top.
Also any comments on the Z4 strong strut brace?

Re: BMW Car Magazine – My Z4M CSL – Pushing the Envelope
I say no carbon wraps at all. As is looks very sexy. The strut brace is apparently good quality and if you think you'll be able to tell the difference with it installed then go ahead and put it on!

Get some bucket seats in there.
As long as it has those heavy electric things it can't be a CSL
