Re: Z4M - where to go next?
To take a step up in performance whilst maintaining the rest of the qualities of the M (relative reliability, comfort, etc.) is a price too far at the moment. IMO would have to be a Noble or TVR T350C, something like that, and then a cheap run-around for the winter commute and shopping. Does just highlight what a capable little machine the M is

Re: Z4M - where to go next?
I suppose the M6 would have the same concerns as the M5 i.e. running costs

Don't want anything slower, think I'd miss the performance too muchWondermike wrote:Yes a nice SLK55, or an E89 35i would be OK too.flimper wrote:I suppose an SLK55 AMG could be in the mix
How set are you on having something with equal or greater performance? With fuel prices and the way the majority drives these days, ///M levels of performance seems too much.

Don't forget the lottery win for the fuel/tyre bills - and the fuel stops will be every 200 miles, as BMW decided to put a tiny fuel and in itStuart Truman wrote: Where's my chequebook?

It's not going to happen, I'm trying to save up to pay the Mortgage off quickly. If only people would stop putting links to lovely cars on here...

My Exige :0) and I'll take yours in part ex if it's a goodun? ;0)flimper wrote:I am getting itchy feet for a new car but as has been discussed at length, where can you go?
My parameters are:
1] Max price £25,000
2] No slower than the Z4M
3] No older than 2007
4] Max miles 40,000
All I can find are the Audi RS4 (is it any faster?), BMW M5 (running costs scary), Jaguar XKR (old man image) and BMW M3. All of these I reckon would cost at least £7,000 to get into. Am I missing any interesting cars? Not sure I want to spend that sort of money to get out of an already brilliant car

I could do but I'd have to fight the wife first! Seriously, a Z4M is as hardcore as I want to goSmudgers wrote:My Exige :0) and I'll take yours in part ex if it's a goodun? ;0)flimper wrote:I am getting itchy feet for a new car but as has been discussed at length, where can you go?
