A larger number of cars being for sale for a short period won't change much in respect of pricing, as these numbers will likely fall very quickly anyway. There is so much variation in quality and mileage that you have to pick what is available to you within your budget.
Top cars will demand top money regardless of how many are being advertised at any one time on Pistonheads or Autotrader. For example, if you want a sub 40,000 mile car right now, there are very few if not zero available in this mileage range for example..
The number of cars for sale compared to the number of possible buyers is still very low compared to say Boxster/Cayman/911, so this should keep prices strong. Of course individual sellers will vary in how keen they are to move on their cars, so some sellers will likely be able to move on price.
Z4M prices still represent very good value so I can't see any drop happening other than for minor fluctuations imo. Unless of course we have another major financial crash then all bets are off!

What do people make of this...

Anyone know the car? Seems like a bit of a bargain.

If it's genuine, then the price looks good for the mileage.
I'd be a bit concerned that it didn't have an mot in 2016, and the owner didn't notice that 3 tyres had cords showing.
It makes you wonder what else was scrimped on.

Agree with nickw, great ones with LM will maintain good prices in almost all scenarios.
I think the higher mile ones will go down as few are good examples, the bubble has burst on average z4mc's. Whilst angus said I am known to talk a bit of rubbish you have to agree that the higher mile ones are overpriced and not selling, the best one in that category is probably £19k with 57k miles in Edinburgh, 1 previous owner, really well looked after and a realistic price, probably has not sold because no one wants to travel to Edinburgh

The reality is for almost everyone buying a Z4, you buy to the best in your budget....if you have is £17k then you buy what you can, and shock horror on a 10-year-old car, it might not be perfect...if you have £22k then you can buy something a little better and so on. Not exactly new news is it.

CSL style wheels can be had for £500ish, there's a reputable seller on M3cutters, Chris (CM wheels?).
I went from E46 M3 to Z4MC. Unless you need back seats you get a car that is so much rarer with unique looks with the Z4M. Less dated interior too.

Sytner strikes again

Sytner £22000

Admittedly too cheap private sale but Sytner must think people are born yesterday £6k for a 12 month warranty. Still not a terrible price for a fantastic looking car.

They can stand the outlay no bother but may be in for a surprise how long they nurse it for very little shifting this summer & no reason why that will be changing anytime soontomscott wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2017 11:56 pm Sytner strikes again

This is mine. Not much interest so far and at £15,495 she is now £500 less than a well respected member on here valued her at. Hardly any interest from the forum but only been on AT for 24 hours. I am lucky that the wife wants her as a daily driver but with a 4 mile commute, I am not sure if that is the best thing for the car.

Selling a convertible sports car at this time of year is always more difficult than in April at the start of the Spring/Summer season.
You may have to wait but for that price for a really good car with only 36,000 miles, you would think it would sell quickly.
I would leave it for sale for another month but not reduce the price further, its already too cheap for what is likely one of the lower mileage cars available in the country.
In March, you'd be able to advertise that easily for £18K so if it doesn't sell now I'd wrap it up and sell at a higher price in the spring.
I wouldn't use it for commuting through the winter. Unless you need the money now I'd put it into storage for 6 months which will cost you £600 but you'll recoup more than that in the Spring with a higher resale figure.
Syntners price is fair for a low mileage great example car. They will have done their checks and it will likely be a top car with likely full BMW Main dealer service history etc and with warranty back up from a BMW Main Dealer.

TBH when cars are advertised at £16k for 36k then the higher miles at not much cheaper will sit. The gap in coupe and roadsters seems pretty vast atm apart from one or two at dealers.
Thats not the only one recently and there is another for not much more. Seems like sensible money to me.
I think the bubble might be deflating a touch. Plenty for sale not slim pickings atm good time to buy.

I probably rushed into buying her replacement as it was a rare find. I really don't want to let this car go but I wanted to try other marques to see how they compare. Luckily, we are not overly desperate to sell but having room and time for what is another car in the family, could be an issue long term. I may SORN her for winter and see how we get on in the Spring.
I have got her in tip top condition with all the little jobs I should have done on purchase, done just before sale... I have enjoyed driving her that much that refurbing the alloys and getting all the fluff off the roof haven't been top priorities.
She has 57K on btw. There are a couple of cars at mid 30's (miles) at around the same cost which made me reduce my price a little. Obviously, the condition and detailed service history of these cars is unknown so they made be cheap for a reason.

Anybody with a spare £28k looking for an eighty-thousand miler with the steering wheel on the wrong side?
