Would of been a BIG repair bill to write that off in 2007!

A couple of ways to view it I suppose...
  • It was 'written off' at less than a year old due to 'new for old' policy
  • If it wasn't written off for a new for old policy, then there was some serious damage or lots of hire car charges (would want lots of proof/photos/documents)
  • It's seems a fair reduction vs a non-cat 40,000 mile Z4MR (say vs £20k?)
Trigger’s Z4MC
Some bits now over 163,000 miles, some less than 1,000 miles.

Surely 40k roadies arent £20,000 are they ?? No history to prove Cat D miles too..:(

Think i would prefer to pay £14k ish for one with 60 odd K on with documented history..

As a cheap way into M ownership a friend of mine has repaired a Cat D 2006 Z4MR, Silver Grey with Black leather interior.
Reg 09.06.06 reg HK 06 JTX. BMW service history to 56300 miles last service 58,900 - 11500 miles to next service. MOT 01.03.18

Cat D repaired - nearside door/wing/suspension arm replaced

New battery roof motor relocated in the boot Sat Nav, heated seats, electric adj. seats, rear park assist, rear spoiler.

£10,000 Contact Jon 0777 63 06 018

I have driven Jon's M and can state it drove impressively well, the engine is very smooth and my experience driving this M led me to take my exhaust back to original - it was an excellent drive. Sorry I didn't take more time to check it all over but it was an example I might very well have considered had I not been in possession already of my M. Please don't ask me for further info - more details available using his mobile number above. He's a very nice gent so do give him a call if interested.

It's a Cat D - but as I said - give Jon a ring for more details if interested. (I've only been over to see the M once - called over to drive the car and try it with a standard exhaust - excellent)

Cat C Z4M Coupe for £15k with 47k on the clock. Doesn't give much insight into why it's a Cat C.

Unless my eyes are mistaken it looks like it's already got the aero skirts on.

Assuming that's not a Cat write off it seems exceptional value. I've bought cars from Northern Ireland before, you can pick up a bargain and easy enough to sort the paperwork, plus you get a nice drive down to Dublin, ferry to Dublin then pretty drive back through Snowdonia. :)

If that checks out it's an absolute bargain. Service history looks spot on and owned by a professor. All good signs.

A quick call or email might throw more light.
Perhaps the dealer had it `sale or return`.

Less than 48 hours after officially going on sale (on PH) I have had a viewing and taken a deposit on my low mileage MC. Buyer is a nice chap who bought one new in 2008 when dealers were discounting heavily and finding it hard to shift them. He put 70,000 mile on it and then sold it (believe it or not to WBAC), but has regretted selling since and wanted to find a good one to keep.

Price agreed is what I would consider to be good for both of us - it's a seller's market if you have a really decent car, but at the same time if he uses it 'sparingly' I don't think he'll lose anything either over the next 5 years even taking servicing and consumables into account.

Sad day for me though - an amazing machine that I will miss.
