12mm spacers all round with eibach on 224

Post by Kingash » Fri Jul 03, 2015 2:26 pm

As per title would 12mm spacers all round work with Eibach springs and the standard 224's? Anyone running this? Any issues?

I would guess that they would - I am running them with KW V3s with no issues at all - looks brilliant as well

GWatson is your man for this. He is running Eibachs with 10mm all round and suggested 12 on the front would have been better.

Based on this, I have fitted 12mm front, 10mm back and the standard 224s look great, but I am not lowered by any amount. If you search in Google "Z4M spacers GWatson" it brings up a thread further down the forum.

Ok cheers for that chaps, i did start a thread about the different setups a while back and I think he said about 12mm on the front 10mm on the rear, the seller im talking to said the 10mm don't have a lip for the wheel to sit in? He said 12mm would be better for this reason just don't want to be dealing with rubbing.

Andrewz4mc - how much is yours lowered by?

Hmmm. I'd avoid then. Spacers over about 5mm need to be hubcentric, unless you like wheel wobble! There was a recent thread in the for sale section with a link to spacers and bolts. I bought Eibach ones from Demon Tweaks on eBay. Total cost came to £240 ish if you'd like links to those and the wheel bolts/locking bolts?

Here's the thread with GWatson's car. Identical to mine and exactly what I bought, bar the springs.

Oh yeah they are hubcentric ones, I wouldn't touch anything else.

Funny enough that's the one i started a while back, why I asked if 12mm on the rear would be ok over the 10mm, does help if i re-read stuff, someone on there is running 12 on the rear so it should be fine, thanks for the input though.

As pointed out above, I normally run 10mm all round with Eibach's, but have recently tried 12mm on the front, no issues at all. I've never tried 12mm on the rear, but can't see it being an issue. I do however run lower, but wider profile tyres than standard.

Might just bite the bullet and try them then, your car looks spot on wheels are sweet, im looking at either glass black(not everyone's cuppa) or anthracite

Thanks. I'm just "borrowing" the wheels from Easty to see if I like them compared to the silver. Doesn't look as classy, but looks more aggressive and transforms the 224's look wise. I think I'll get mine done next year! :)

Gloss black wheels always make the tyres look old/brown/dirty... I'd opt for a lighter colour but horses for courses!

Yep - I'm running 12mm spacers on mine - I did however convert to studs at the same time. I did it to make the car feel more 'planted' (as per Exdos recommendation) and it did!!

Edited - I'm running H&R 8mm spacers - see my thread: http://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=77724
