I agree, they may keep climbing in the current climate then pullback a touch but they will always command a premium over a regular boxster and even a 911.

Where will you go after the M...?

Intentionally reviving this thread!

1 year down the line (another year i keep the Zed.. says a lot eh!), 1 more year of cars that might qualify to add to the mix. I now see the defacto 'upgrades' (as in, given the choice, what is the ultimate M replacement) as:

The next step up:
997 C2S
V8 Vantage S
F-Type S

The ~£100k dreamland options:
Cayman GT4 (+cash for some sharkwerks'ing)
AMG GT S
991 GT3
997 GT3
Jaguar F-Type R
Audi R8 V10+
V12 Vantage (S)

Thoughts? I've still got the V12 Vantage pegged as my dream car.
V12 Vantage S - Hammerhead Silver, Manual, Lightweight Wheels, Exterior Carbon++, Carbon Buckets, AMR Performance Pack.
M135i LCI - ZF8, White, HK Audio, Adaptive
--
GONE Z4 M Coupe, Imola, CSLs
GONE C63 AMG, Black, Performance Pack+, LSD, HK

Nice choices
I thought about an M4
Or an R8 spyder

But every single time I look and drive mine
It's a no from me to selling it
They're just so pretty and additive to drive when done what I've done to mine

Corvette C6 for me, but I'm happy with the M and have no reason to change other than that V8.

TBH I am also waiting for the crash but I cant see it happening. These used classics are just going to go up and up. Especially with the new tax rules. I can only see more inflation on manual NAs.

Any manual non turbo Ferrari. My mate has a 360 spyder manual which is rocketing in value. The non turbo manuals are very much sought after by the Ferrari purists and are becoming rarer.

I've already 'gone' but never forget these Z4Ms are still awesome machines: rare, reliable, properly fast and damn good looking! 8)

ZermattV wrote:Depends what you are using the car for but i wouldn't discount the 997 Gen II GTS they are holding strong money and difficult to find - and probably more useable on a day to day basis than a GT3 . and a good deal cheaper than a GT3 GenII . i keep a bit of an eye on the 997 Gen II market through the guy i bought mine from and my own searches - and they havent really budged in 18 months . the 991 being so much more has meant Gen IIs have stayed with their owners longer and there are not so many of them in the first place as the car was built during the downturn.

I wouldnt discount a 981 Boxster Spyder if you can get hold of one.

in terms of bond cars ..... why not Vanquish http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/ ... 223861?v=b
Fully agree with Boxster Spyder, price wise you wouldn't lose anything and what an amazing looking car too.
