Gearbox and diff oils capacity.

Post by no fit state » Mon Jan 09, 2017 8:16 pm

I've got my car booked in for it's inspection 2 next week and will supply the oils myself.

So can anyone tell me how much gearbox oil and how much diff oil I need to order?

Cheers

You'll need to buy 2 qts of each, although you won't use all of it.

As above, order 2l of each but you'll use about 1.5/6.

I'd recommend the RedLine MTL 70W-80 for the gearbox...
I got the tip from on here.

Still can't believe the change it made! :)

Do you have a eurocarparts product code for both items please?

I can only find Product Code: 522770962:

http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-a ... &0&cc5_868

And, I should have booked mine in for an Inspection 2 today!

Better than standard? Would love to add a little more slickness to the shifting, the colder temps don't help :)
Silver Grey 2007 Z4MR which needs to be driven more  :P  :D

You're in for a treat. :)

(Ok I might be overexxagerating, but give it a few miles and you'll deffo notice it)

Any oil buffs care to input any massive difference upon this change??

Lots of people suffer from this 1st to 2nd gear denial at high rpm, it's a well known Z4M 'feature'.
Uprated engine mounts solve it to a certain extent, vibra-technics etc.
MC[IB], CSL airbox, Schrick 288/280 cams, 4.44FD, UUC SSK, SS race cat back, AP CP9660[F]/5144[R] brakes, Apex ARC-8 with AR-1 or PS5, KW ClubSport 2-way, Turner spherical arms, PMC uniball rtab, VB engine mounts, Rogue pulleys & RSMs, Tillett B6, half cage
