Can't work out how big I can actually go and what offsets I can get away with

Anybody know if

Would fit the M ok?

I don't have an M, but 10j et28 is going to poke a touch! I'm sure Mr Wilks resident wheel guru will be along shortly.
This may help if you measure how much space you have from top of rim to arch and then see how much further out you can go.

Not on an M, they'll be almost exactly the same as my 9.5J+23

heres a general rule of thumb... aim for 25 rear, 35 front for a nice fitment that will look great and still allow a nice range of tyre choice. front i recommend 8.5 and rear 9.5"... you can go outside of this however but theirs little point as your limited to tyre sizing anyway due to the available space. With the above widths you can get the ideal tyre for the rim.

FWIW i run 8.5 - ET29 9.5 - ET 23 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 respectively.

I've got a set of z4m 224s that will soon be refurbished and ready to go on the zed. Wonder what spacers would you lot use to space them out ? Non M btw.

You won't need spacers with 224s on non M Z4

Here's my previous E86 on 224s

Thought so.. ! Was hoping that would be the case, guess they'll poke out less than my current CSL reps.
