Replacing the M badges...

Post by Jimyu » Mon Feb 20, 2017 6:09 pm

All three of mine have seen better days so i've found the part numbers here

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=51&fg=20

but the picture suggests that the side badges are M/// and the rear badge is ///M

Is this right, as mine all look the same. If not what is the difference in the part? Size?

Thanks

Rear one is larger. But all in the same direction, I did mine recently.

Is that roughly what you paid?

I've only done 2 (so far) the other one was in good nick. But yes they are expensive.

It's only really the coloured sections that go bad, right? I wonder how hard it would be to find some matching paint colours to airbrush on?

Chap on cutters did new stickers for about a fiver, looked like new as the metal bits don't really have any wear. Paying for new badges at the price is...kinda mental!

Is there a safe way to remove the old badges without scratching the colour?

Nope he does rear and sides as yes different sizes. All done for a fiver and took me about 15 minutes. Have a search on there, can't remember his username!
