Lots of warning lights and limp mode

Post by slipperyshoe » Sun Feb 26, 2017 7:53 pm

Just took the m out after 4 months in my garage. Had a flat battery so I jumped it. The tyre pressure, DSC and I think the abs Light were on amber. When driving the abs light and another light flashed (ABS). It was running fine and I thought was just because battery was low. I took it for a run for about an hour (dual carriageway) and put some air in tyres, then took it to be cleaned. They only turned it off once but it wouldn't start....

..we tried a mobile jump starter but it didn't have the power to start so we jumped it from their x5. Unfortunately he too MK the leads off as soon as it was started and it was struggling a bit to tick over. Recovered after a minute or two so I went to drive home. All the lights remained on and the additional EML light came on. Literally had to limp home at 20mph.

I'm hoping this could all be down to the battery needing replacing. Any thoughts? Should I have done some more checks prior to taking her out after so long?

Car is 06 z4mr with 56k and pretty immaculate by the way. :?

Battery pretty much for sure. I had similar with the lights. The two ecu's have trouble syncing due to insufficient power iirc.

It is, but the car was 5 years old when I got it. Was 9 years old when failed though so not bad.

I bought an S4. This signifies the length of warranty though, not the size.
