Congratulations!
Also, I agree with some of the other comments on here i.e. too much scare-mongering going on around Insp I vs Insp II

Was I right to walk away?
Wow, this is a really timely thread!
I have been looking at these 2 very cars. Used to be a member on here when I had my z4c and after running an e92 m3 and now a 435d I fancy something more raw for some roof down motoring.
The silver one looked great and I was disappointed when I called Leicester Sytner today to find it sold - congratulations!
I've got a tentative deal with Tamworth on the red z4mr. After being initially very weary about the service history I've negotiated an inspt 2 service and an additional year warranty i.e. 24 months.
I didn't realise the valve clearances were done on an inspection 1 so that sounds really positive. Would people recommend I walk or do you think the risk is somewhat protected by warranty and service?
(Also op did you negotiate a good deal? Appreciate you may not want to tell me but it may help my negotiation if I know im close to what you agreed! Cheer)

2 yr warranty ratty64 + ins2 as i'm sure you are aware racks up in real terms to well over £2k
These aren't 12 month old AUC , they are 10yrs , you know there is irregularity in the history so judge the car on its current condition , purchase price & potential costs going forward , id say you were well on top of a decent deal & let's face it , Imola is THE best colour for any ///M car

Yes I'm starting to think that way - it was niggling in my mind but now knowing an insp 1 checks the valve clearances too I feel better.
Haven't seen it with the roof up so going to check that tomorrow for condition.
Absolutely love the red. Had a montego blue z4c and Melbourne m3, so now time for an imola z4c I feel

2 year AUC warranty on that car is a bargain! It makes it completely risk free for you....Get it before someone else does!

I'm with you on this. A few years ago a different story. A 2 year BMW warranty should cover any major issues if any do arise.mr wilks wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2017 9:36 pm 2 yr warranty ratty64 + ins2 as i'm sure you are aware racks up in real terms to well over £2k

Truth is after 7 previous grey or black Z4s the Imola is a different beast altogether , discreet it is not but for a roadster with M pedigree it really fits the bill click on my Instagram link if you want a Imola feastratty64 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2017 9:41 pm Yes I'm starting to think that way - it was niggling in my mind but now knowing an insp 1 checks the valve clearances too I feel better.

After the woes of limp mode, rattles where the least of my worries, besides couldn't hear the rear parcel one with the roof down. Although the squeak of window / rubber when I fiddled with the window whilst driving in said limo mode got a "seriously, you're bothered about a rattle right now?"
