Royal Steering Wheel....top stripe or no stripe?

Post by Angelus666 » Mon Apr 10, 2017 1:46 pm

So, am going to have my wheel redone by the guys at Royal Steering Wheel. I'm thinking of going Alcantara (I miss the CSL)...and will probably go grey with M stitching, but would you add a top stripe...or does that look a bit silly?

I'd be happy to have one with a top stripe. Although I'd be awkward and as for 3 thin strips in the M logo colours :P

So the top stripe as I understand it is for when you're so busy throwing the car in and out of bends that the scenery blurs and you need a visual key to bring the car back in line. Maybe in a track car its acceptable :driving:

Stripe but subtle colour I had on a previous car. I agonised too but loved it.

I like the stripe and can see me having one. I can also see me agonsing over the decision and chickening out as it is a road car but I think the Zed can just about get away with it being a sports car.

Its a bit of a personal thing TBH, myself its a no but we all do things to our cars to make them personal to us.

There have been some very nice examples pictured above but at the end of the day its down to you.

Remember though we want pics once its done :poke:

The single red strips look ok, the 3 colour one not so.
Personally I wouldn't have a strip, they're not track cars. Each to his own.

Easty, what colour Alcantara is that...that's exactly what I'm looking for! My car is Ruby Black so could have a dark red stripe to bring it together.

Also, is that a standard wheel thickness...? Jack mentioned that some people decide to cover over the leather to make it extra fat.
