Bluetooth phone connection issue

Post by Tring Man » Thu Apr 13, 2017 4:21 pm

I have today purchased Monaco Blue's car (he was a pleasure to deal with).

The one problem I have experienced is connecting my Galaxy S7. Felix had successfully connected his iPhone, I have returned home and connected my sons iPhone successfully as well.

However no luck with pairing the S7. The car sees the phone, the phone sees the car. But when they try to pair the phone shows `connection ' error, and the car just `searching' until it times out.

I assume the S7 is just too new, but wondered if anyone else has experienced/solved this problem?

Regards
Alan

Now tried Galaxy S6 (older phone) same connection issue.

Tried daughters iPhone 6,works fine!

So iPhones work.

Anyone got their Samsung Galaxy to work?

How do you remove previous pairings, can find nothing in menus showing them?

Bluetooth phone connection issue

I had this problem with the ULF (Bluetooth module) unit in one of my Z4s. It's an issue with some of the units produced up to about 2006. I never found a solution, but was fortunately able to swap for a newer one in my other Z4.

Removing previous pairings in unlikely to help, but it can't hurt to try....

It does tell you in the bluetooth book that comes with the car.

Congratulations on the car! I came close to buying Felix's car last year and it looked like a cracking example.

I had a similar problem with mine, and also have a Samsung mobile. Mine would pair though but I have never managed to sync my contacts to the car and have tried all the steps, deleting pairings etc and I also downloaded some bluetooth app which someone recommended, it didn't help.

I just think Samsung phones don't get on with the car for some reason, but you should be able to pair it at least.

Sorry, not really helping but I think it's a common issue.

When I bought my car there was no manual for the phone - Albeit I had an iPhone, I had no idea where to start.
I found a pdf manual on line - the title says it's for an E60, but the instructions seem pretty generic.
Happy to email it to you if you want to try it

Yeah I retrofitted Bluetooth to mine, had to do the wiring loom as well... Then found out none of the android phones would connect to it, my mrs iPhone works fine though :headbang:
Need a later ulf module I believe to resolve it.

What year was your car? Mines a 2006 and I've only ever paired Android phones. Also had a 2005 e46 which I think uses the same Bluetooth as the Z and that paired my Android phones too.

The car is 2007, the retrofit is 2005. There's about 15 different versions of the ulf module and it's known that the earlier one's have issues with android Bluetooth stack as I've come to find out. Mine I think is gen 4 or so, I've tried two sonys and 2 Samsungs with no joy, all the iPhones I've tried worked fine.
It will connect to the android but then drops the connection almost immediately. There is a Bluetooth app workaround which didn't work for me unfortunately.

Same here. I've given up trying and just ignore my work's phone when in my car - in fact, I put it in the boot so I'm not distracted by it. I'm old enough to remember life before mobile phones
