How does the Evolve CSL intake compare to the Eventuri they also produce in figures & costs?

Sadly not, since the "before" stage was a broken engine. The whole bottom end has been rebuilt, head skimmed, new cams etc.
As mentioned above, the last time I was at Evolve I got quite low numbers, with their tune and the Evolve airbox. Will see if they still have it on file as I can't remember what it was but pretty sure it was mid-330s...

Completely different. The Eventuri is a Gruppe-M style cone intake with carbon shroud/heatshield, that still uses the MAF etc. "CSL" airbox does away with the MAF entirely, and runs an Alpha-N tune. Much larger air inlet.
Also, think with tune and airbox the CSL style is usually in the £2k-2.5k range. Eventuri not sure - but guessing about £400 (not every looked)?

Really happy this car is back on the road. One of the best.

True but its not dependent on getting the power down on rollers via the wheels

Still the point here is that your engine is clearly in a healthy state whatver the exact output

Sixspeed happy to see your car back on the road and stronger
Can I ask you if you see any differences after the tuning on the following situations:
1) At cold start the car starts the same way as before the tune?
2) What is your idle rpms?
3) Have you noticed a difference on the mile per gallon consumption?
4) Have you seen a difference between driving the car on with sports mode on or off?
5) Do you have a smell of gasoline out the pipes?
With the cams do you see any difference in the low rpms?
Thank you...

Very nicely indeed 6speed. Congrats again on getting it sorted mate. Sure as heck are very healthy those numbers.
Spot on! Did GS say anything about running in the bearings and cams/followers?

Ha wouldn't really stand a chance against the Guilia, saying that will an Alfa make it to the end of the runway!!sixspeed wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2017 2:48 pmHaha!Viren wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2017 2:17 pmGlad you got it all sorted and showing some good figures, but you know the only real way to test it is against my car on a airfield runway right.sixspeed wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2017 1:11 pm Finally got my Geoff Steele rebuilt engine on the dyno yesterday up at Evolve. Quick health check and a map tweak for the cams part of that as well.
Really happy with the result, 378bhp and 290lb/ft
Spec is H&S exhaust (cat back)
Evolve "CSL" intake
Schrick 288/280 cams

Back at the 'Ring next weekend. Hopefully manage more than 2 laps this time!
I'm there on the 6th? (although in my newly acquired Giulia QF, not the Z - but it could be there... )
I'll probably be at the goodwood breakfast, so will keep an eye out for you.

That's a very healthy figure! Yours, TomK's and Vanne's are my ideal engine spec Z4Ms

Hey FD3S, long time...
2. 1,000rpm
3. MPG on a cruise seems much the same to me. I'm sure in-town/city driving would suffer a bit just due to the increased idle RPM.
4. Ive never used sports mode on my Z, and haven't tried it since the new tune, but i'l try and let you know.
5. Not that I've noticed!
6. Low RPM is still very driveable. It's probably a little less torquey than before but hard to discern, and I don't drive the car as often as I used to. Either way it doesn't feel a whole lot different at low RPM to before, so far!
1. Cold starts are a pretty spluttery, lumpy affair, but it smooths out after a minute or so.FD3S wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2017 11:05 pm Sixspeed happy to see your car back on the road and stronger
