Well done Dan, looks lovely (for a coupe) and I like the wheels, think they suit the car. Getting a bit common though, all these M's :P
I'm sure ol Dawg will show you a few detailing tips.

The S54 path seems well trodden just lately with current Z owners making the switch  great move i would say OP & as already pointed out buying in on high miles / lowish price can make sense if looked after well .
Enjoy it , they do offer a great ownership experience

Beedub I already do mate, after many runs in the passenger seat of D4dawgs lovely MR, his one has very performance oriented mods which is the way I usually go and want to go with it as his sounds epic with the decat, Eisenmann race and Eventuri.
Tomk totally agree! And boy do I intend to use it! No fair weather garage queen here!
Thanks Fred, common as mook eh!

Pastry, thanks, I'm sure I will mate, see you on the roads soon I'm sure as you're not far from me.

Mr Wilks cheers buddy, been waiting for the right time/car to make the transition, Mr D4dawg is partly to blame for egging me on to just bite the bullet and do it. Needs a bit of work but I'm not scared of that, and I'll end up with a great car after a few bits are sorted, and the satisfaction of having brought it up to scratch and put my stamp on it.
One more week!

Haha will do, although I've got used to the steering on mine, I grew up on e36s, and I'm sure I'll feel much more confident, and be much happier with the old school hydraulic steering on the M. Itching to get modding, starting on a pretty much standard car it's ripe for a bit of performance enhancing :D

Sounds (and looks) like you found a good one OP.

And as it has a proper roof you can use it all year round. :poke:

Sadly I didn't win the Euromillions last Friday, so I 've missed out on an Imola E86M on the Forum - I didn't win this week either. :(

Congrats Dan. They are special cars and I'm sure you are going to have a lot of fun. :driving:

Great move getting the bearing shells done. What are you thinking, wheel-wise?

Thanks guys. It's a good one but I aim to make it a great one eventually.
I'd love some genuine CSLs, but they may have to wait. I know they're done to death and all that but they just look so right, I don't think there's a better looking wheel on a z4 imo. If not then some reps, or bbs lm reps possibly. There are other wheels I like but as I plan to use the car as was intended and in all weather and conditions they would need too much work and money to keep in good condition. Now off to dream about a bottomless modding fund

No better place to start with the mods than a factory fresh car, as everyones opinion on what needs changing is different! Just don't supercharge lol!!!everything needs changing to cope

Congrats on the new acquisition Dan, very cool car
The best thing about buying high mile car, is that when you replace parts, you can specify upgraded quality parts. Enjoy the drive mate, I am sure you will. :D
