Nictrix wrote: Sun Apr 30, 2017 6:08 pm That looks a fantastic finish and a really unusual colour.
Just one question though, why were the bolts and stuff not removed before painting?
Many kind thanks:)

All bolts out buddy bar the ones for the pad stays
I asked for them to be sprayed, as they could run risk of tainting/ corroding and that would ruin the look

Plus they're job is simply to locate pad shoulders
Main 4 are 2 on top to split from bracket and 2 at rear for going through bracket on to hub lugs:)

I'm a newbie so probably not yet supposed to have an opinion! They look great but destroy the OEM look intended. 8)

They look insane! Nice to see brembo logos on actual brembos for once too.

You remembered to swop the rear caliper bridge pipes/bleed valves round, right? Ok, just checking... :P

In many aspects thats part of its purpose I think
I like the colour. Although I wouldnt have painted the guide pins on the front calipers.
But you can always unscrew those and put in new ones (~£5/set at the dealer)
(use an xacto knife to cut the paint around to prevent paint tearing off when unscrewing)

I had them painted and then remembered!
But size of pistons it's not an issue as only 2mm in it
Otherwise I'd have taken off to sort;)

And many thanks buddy
Not going for the plastic over brembo ebay specials;)

The one part of the car I'd love to change is the front lights which look dated. The rest of the car looks awesome :D

That's the point exactly buddy it's to pop and make the car :)
As we all know the tiny oem ones ;)
And yes buddy I could but as the have no real use as have to take caliper off to change pads and push them into spring clips it's no biggy
But if change mind I'll do that idea ta buddy
Bugger got me looking at that now!!
New pins may tie them in well with wheels !
But that means pads out etc

Ps old oem calipers on same wheels to show comparison

Haha all good buddy :)
Don't think other types of lights would make the car look better without looking too new tbh

Yes, I agree and guess as no one would spend the money needed to redesign and manufacture something more modern, I need to resign myself to a set of angel eyes. :(

I'm sure they'll be fine. See how the pads wear anyway, just to be safe.

Tell me buddy
2 hours sleep on Friday night as was looking at them as designed to be front mounted as on 996s
So pistons go from larger to smaller now
I called brake guys and said it's 2mm don't worry as if were the fronts he's have them back as something like 26 to 38 I think

But agreed I'll keep an eye on them
My current problem appears ds2500s dont have a cut out for sensor hmmmmm
