My local BMW dealer also offered this option for my M Roadster. I don't recall the exact cost but as I recall it was around $1,000. I have on one occasion exceeded 155 MPH in 5th gear reaching about 160 or a little more. I was still accelerating but was running out of road so I had to slow down.

i've had mine flat out in 6th at 250km/h.... there was more revs to go but felt like that was the electronic limiter holding it there...

I've had mine on just under 280 km/h (175 mph) on the speedo but then I ran out of road.
That was 100% stock wheels/tyres/software & no aero/wings etc.
There wasn't a visible decline either.

At vmax200 my was laser measured at 162mph, think that was 170 on the Speedo.

Ye Tis, front started getting lighter above about 160. Would need to change the aero on the Roadster to go faster. Just don't put the roof up.

Seen 168mph (270km/h) in 6th on Autobahn, then stock as far as I'm aware of.
(dunno if previous owners reprogrammed anything)
Front end much more planted with front spoiler!

Is that indicated or gps verified? If indicated that could still fall within the 155mph limiter?

I suspect having the roof down is what did it. Must create a little more drag and lift. No figures to verify that, just empirical observation.

No limiter on the Alpina, and an official top end of 169mph (172mph with the hard top fitted). Would expect a delimited ///M to be something similar.

Not my picture, but one posted in a previous discussion about V max:

I've seen an indicated 175mph previously but ran out of road / bravery. I wouldn't expect much more even with the limiter removed.

I've had clocks sitting at/just above 180, GPS showing 178mph on the autobhan last year. I assume this means there is no limiter on mine but nothing in the paperwork about having any kind of performance pack

Only 2mph speedo error at that speed is highly impressive, has it been corrected through the software?
