Fuel Injectors

Post by Machine monkey » Wed Jun 28, 2017 8:50 am

Anyone know if the s54 and m54 injectors are the same? If the s54 injectors flow more does anyone have a set I can borrow?

Looking at the pics Mat, I don't think they'd even fit into an M54, as the O rings and nozzle end look to be completely different.

Does no-one do "uprated" M54 injectors?

Thinking about it, probably not, as I can't see the demand with it being normally aspirated. Possibly the 35i/s ones?

i have a set for sale if you interested???

the z4m injectors operate at a much higher fuel pressure i believe...... i removed mine for the upgrade to the vt2 setup....which came with ANOTHER new set of injectors :| And the injectors for these cars are not cheap.

How much do you want for them? And would you be prepared for me to try them and see if they work?

They all operate at 3 bar but I will be putting in a adjustable fuel regulator and much bigger pump anyway. So that's not the issue. The issue is the ohms they operate at is different. I need to find out if that is a problem or programable with my ecu or if that's even possible or even a problem?? And if they even physically fit. How much would you want for them?

You must be able to buy uprated ones for the m54, people have been supercharging them for years?

Are you sure they need to be uprated, can't you just increase the duty cycle of them in the mapping table?Rob

As said above you can buy them. But I am on a budget. It looks like the s54 ones won't be worth doing either. Unless they where almost free as the gain is minimal.

Yes I can increase the duty cycle and will be. As well as boosting the pressure supplied to them but again this has issues. The 3rd nasty option is to add a couple of injectors but this would have to be before the TB as it's the only place I could weld in bungs. My piggy back will run them but it's a bit of a farm yard solution!

I will keep searching for a deal. And researching. Hopefully find out that something off another car will fit. We had to do similar with coils and injectors on the supra.

what ever happens, id run a walbro or aeromotive in tank, hell even the z4m unit if it works, swap out the FPR and use the z4m injectors, the stock injectors are still used on some of the base kits which run 430 hp....
