Not yet... It is expensive but I think it completes the car with some cams which you already have so your nearly there!

Contacted a few places in UK and one in Germany. All out of stock, so no choice but to wait. I have put a note in my calendar end of Sep

Ha, whenever I think I have stopped I am scouring the forum for more! I have zero plans to sell the car, so SC seems like the best option. For me a 3k airbox is a non starter as the sound is epic but its just sound, and the 3k is a third towards having 535hp and exclusivity in a Z4MC SC.
I could be tempted with the 1.5k option all in but the differences between the e46 and e86 just make that journey one full of risk and probable pain.
I know for a lot of people doing the SC means all the other stuff needs doing and the costs spiral, but my engine has a new top end, with the schricks and the rebuild, the bottom end is inspected and the shells replaced. Compression tested, cam phased tested, you name it. So the engine is as sound as you like. I have the BBK already, the KW V3s, the ARBs, the car is ready for more power. So I think that is my plan now, slowly build up an SC fund.

You know mate, thats probably the best choice to make. I love the NA sound, but 535 cannot be denied. That will make it off the planet.

Don't want to put a downer on the idea phil, but look into the implications of having put higher lift cams in the car (designed for NA applications) with a supercharger, as FI specific cams would ideally have a longer duration. They may mess with any standard SC tune, as the tune will have been done for the standard lift/duration of 268/268.pHilli0 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 29, 2017 9:13 amHa, whenever I think I have stopped I am scouring the forum for more! Did you go with 272/272 (which should be ok I think) or 288/280 (which might present a problem)?

Yea I did casually have a think about the cams when I was thinking SC. Looking at what I have they are essentially the CSL spec cams:TomK wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2017 4:37 pm Don't want to put a downer on the idea phil, but look into the implications of having put higher lift cams in the car (designed for NA applications) with a supercharger, as FI specific cams would ideally have a longer duration. SCHRICK CAMSHAFTS FOR S54 (B32) 6 CYL. 4 VALVE E46 M3 STAGE 1
-280/132-72 - Intake
-272/128-83 - Exhaust
I am hopeful that is close enough to stock to not create a problem but I have no information at all just a hope. If anyone out there has ever supercharged their CSL I guess it must work, outside of that .. ?

Good forward thinking I would give Simpson Motorsport a call, they've been supercharging s54s for a long time now and I have personally seen some supercharged oem csl cars there so they should know. I believe they generally use ESS kit.pHilli0 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2017 8:11 pmYea I did casually have a think about the cams when I was thinking SC. Thanks for trying that
I'll give them a shout. The thing I find is noone stock these, they are all special order with supersprint. Few places in Germany were similar, I enquired and they confirmed no luck.

You should be ok with those cams , high lift cams can "bleed boost".... but i believe the tune can be altered to make the most of cams.
