Auto trader valuations

Hi all, any opinions on the auto trader valuations site where you enter the reg and mileage of your car and it comes back with a private sale price and a trade in price. , do the valuations seem high or low to forum members? Any comparison to real world prices ?

Hi OP,

I have no experience of using it for any Z4, but when I advertised my 123d in 2014 I'm sure I put it up for about £1,000 more than A/T recommended! I got knocked down a fair bit, but still got way more for it than they had suggested.

(And way more than WBAC's valuation)!

I think looking at what people have them advertised for is a better guide, especially on a dedicated forum like this.
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

Thanks mr tidy, we buy any car a couple of years ago offered half its value but then kept increasing the offer over 18 months , to a high of 15650 then started dropping again. Auto trader put it at 21500 private sale and 19500 trade in , both of which I thought were higher than it should have been. Mine is an 08 carbon black m coupe with carbon dash, nav etc with just under 56k on, new pilot sports , lives in an airchamber andvery well fettled. Not ready to go as far as advertising yet but work is a bit slow and just checking things out in case i decide to let someone else enjoy, as have been building a beach buggy and only did 900 miles between last two mot's.

I think you'd get £20k - £21k private sale, trade in would probably be less than £19k IMO

Well thats good to know, have to wait to see what pans out workwise, I sold my previous z3m roadster after five years for 8100 after paying 9100 thinking i had done well, they then seemed to be making about 12 k within a fairly short time. 🤔

1) post using forum upload
2) use 3rd party hosting (imgur, et al)
3) use your own website for hosting (using some open source/free gallery software or just linking to a file in a folder)
Trigger’s Z4MC
Some bits now over 163,000 miles, some less than 1,000 miles.
