What is the cheapest car insurance you have ever heard anyone get in the UK?

Prices quoted must be an annual cost
No restrictions on vehicle so long as its a road car
Must have been fully comp

My cheapest was £185 classic insurance on my E24
I'm pretty sure my mum pays £120 for her Hyundai Getz

Anyone seen / heard of / bought cheaper?

When I worked for CIS I sold car insurance. £96 was the lowest premium. Was a woman aged 55 (ish) on a diesel VW polo. She'd never made a claim and lived in a low crime zone - a town called Carnoustie

£86 a year!

For a 1990 e34 M5, on a classic 2000 mile policy, when I was getting lots of work done on it and using another car as my daily driver.

That must be the winner!

£90 TPFT for a 1978 landrover in the mid 90's... In Kent

How far back are we going?

Not really applicable, but when I was 16 my 50cc bike insurance was £10 fully comp! This was a rider policy too so I could ride whatever 50cc I wanted!

This was only 30yrs ago... (oh god, shoot me now)

Tapatalking...

I don't have an answer.. Are you asking for Z4s only, or any car?

However -- whatever the figure is, it could go DOWN (for men, at least) this December.

Is anyone aware of how much motor insurance for women is likely to go up when the EU Gender Directive comes in in December?

As I understand it, it's going to be illegal for insurers to differentiate on the grounds of gender.

So... Women are going to pay more for critical illness insurance, and men are going to pay up to 25% more (!!!) for income protection (source http://www.reidscottross.co.uk/insurance-protection/g-day-impact-gender-directive-insurance/).

Personally, I think it's political correctness working the WRONG way, but.. what about motor insurance?

Historically, men have paid a lot more than women for car insurance - for good reason! But does this mean that car insurance for males is going to go down?

Does anyone know the facts? Should we all be thinking about renewing our motor insurance in December?

£110 for the Polo 2 years ago.

£120 for the Golf Clipper now
£150 for the Abarth
£220 for the Z4M

Everybody envious now? :D

could be a good time to ask if ayone has their 3.0si coupe on classic car policy ?
i have mine with classicline because i transferred midway from previous motor they covered but they told me that the coupe may not conform to their criteria when renewal is due therefore they would not guarantee to offer a new policy ?
slightly worried as my NCB is on my main vehicle . renewal in dec

You can swap NCB between policies with no problems (that's what I did) and if you push hard enough, you can get your NCB mirrored. Some companies are just coming to terms with the fact you can only drive one car at a time.

That's a very good deal indeed. I also hear about the Allied Group that they provide cheapest insurance policies with efficient package. Is any one her about that beside me?

Mirroring plus 1. Bought a small car for commuting last year and LV mirrored my 75% discount.

Sorry to go off track, but don't think I should compete here. My first insurance quote was in pounds shillings and pence :driving:
