Re: Guidelines and signature rules
I am new to this forum, but not new to forums at all.
Unable to input my avatar.
Have dragged and dropped sp3ctre's avatar onto my 'puter and yet its larger than the one I'm trying to hoist.........and I keep getting warnings that it's too large.....??
Any assistance gratefully received - have sent pm, but no response.
Thank you.
Paul

Your avatar has to be......
Maximum dimensions; width: 120 pixels, height: 120 pixels, file size: 11.86 KiB.

Re: Guidelines and signature rules
Just make it a tiny bit smaller. It's the .86 that's the problem by the looks of it. When I did mine it had to be spot on for the size.

WIGS-P, file size is apparently too large and exceeding 11 KIB....
If you want to send me the file I can reduce the file size to our requirements.

Re: Guidelines and signature rules
The dimensions are not the only thing that controls file size.
When you save a JPG from Photoshop you have options to change the quality. The lower the quality, the smaller the file. Try saving it as high rather than max, or medium rather than high.
The other trick is to go into your preferences and disable 'save preview' and 'preview thumbnail' - as these both add to the file size - and sometimes the 'preview' can be larger than the image itself.
I find the easiest way to get any picture down to a specific size, is to use the 'save for web' function as it lets you play with quality/sizes before you save the file.
