Craigdm has argued red is best.....presumably completely non-biased aswell.

I have a half blue and half red car in the garage, but I really don't like purple.

I have to say I was a bit cautious about getting a black car but having bought this car and had it polished up, I have to concur it's a great colour for sports or luxury cars. It looks classy, elegant, aggresive all at the same time and it's a colour that will never go out of fashion. Although I can understand why you wouldn't want one in the UK with the constant bad weather, it would be a nightmare to keep clean and it has to be clean to looks it's best.

That's one of the things that puts me off black cars.

Although in the right light my Ruby Black one did look fantastic!

Yellow attracts flies in the summer so probably not the best choice

Hi all, I’ve heard a few stories about the boot seal leaking water onto the battery and roof ecu, is there a way to combat this problem or anything to look out for when viewing cars? Cheers

You can check the hydraulic roof pump for water as it can be underneath it on the foam that it sits on. Also worth checking the boot isn't leaking by pouring a couple of bottles of water all over it - while it's closed

Yes, don't buy a car with water in the boot. Don't buy a car with any sign of water anywhere internally (check the carpets).
They don't all leak, just the ones that haven't been looked after properly. It can be an easy fix, or an expensive one so best not take the gamble IMO. I did with my second one, and was lucky it was a simple fix.

It is as easy to keep water out of an E89 as it is to let water in. Miles of rubber seals and a lack of care equals water leaks (in the UK). Remember these cars were not designed for the UK; they were designed for California and the like, where it rarely rains. The vast majority of owners have never been near a car forum, so are ignorant to the problems without proper maintenance.
