What a fantastic effort, pity the H&S brigade got involved. That would have been so fitting for the tank to roll along the streets of Lincoln

Unfortunately the over zealous health and safety mob are never far away ,just watched guy and his Tank on TV , brilliant, we are lucky not every body is a PC and health and safety addict , seems our friends on the continent were not concerned by this fantastic achievement being put through its paces, Nice one Guy and the Team

+1 What a farce to not let that event take place. The home if the tank and a fitting tribute. How hard could it be to allow that machine to travel that short distance in a remembrance day parade for all those lost in conflict. Bad show Lincoln BC

Great program, I wonder if the difficulty with the skid steering made the careful manoeuvring down the high street no longer wise?

While Guy Martin headlines the program ,the real stars were the men from J.C.B who did a fantastic engineering job.You have to give great credit to the engineers a 100yrs ago who built the original tanks.

Actually, the Council, Police and "H&S brigade" have received a lot of undeserved bad press here. They needed to operate under strict guidelines for public events, and were looking into how the tank could be accommodated within the Remembrance Parade. At no stage did they reject the application - however, the producers of the program decided to go for using the tank in France as an easier option.
Despite not getting to see it "live", it was a fantastic achievement by all concerned.
