Hi Everyone,

I've just put down a deposit on an 35is but it only has one key (with comfort access).
Apart from the obvious, going to a main dealer, getting my pants pulled down in the process, can I purchase a second key elsewhere?
Suggestions please

TIA

I had the same when I bought mine and got the dealer (an independent) to give me the second key as a condition of the sale - he yelped a bit when his boss said it was around £600 (load of BS - I'd checked with a couple of locksmiths and it was nowhere near that, especially as they'd get it cheaper for traders).

Ring a few independent auto locksmiths, as you have one key, it can be used to program the new one

Welcome to the forum by the way!

It may help if you gave an indication of where you are.

I've read positive feedback about bmkeys in East London, although I've never needed to use them.

But a former forum member in Cheshire cut and coded a key for my previous E86 for £80.

Thread revival, but do you know if a Cheshire key cutting service is still available?

I went to look at an E89 for sale this week, but only with one key. Trying to get a feel for costs on a 2nd key, so I can negotiate accordingly.

Thanks,
Steve

I'm sure it is still going, but there were some issues and the guy who runs it was banned from the forum so I'll PM you.

Most mobile locksmiths can supply and code an e89 key - price is usually around £150 if they come to you.
