As the title says, I’m wondering if there’s any issue replacing the front tyres on an E89 with 235/35/19, from of the stock 225/35/19?

Willtheyfit says a small rolling circumference, and a 3.5mm raise in right height- small enough to ignore? Mostly concerned with rubbing. I already increased the back tyres from 30 to 35, a similar increase in circumference / speedo, so not bothered by that.

If you wonder why (probably not, but I’ll mention it anyway) - I’ve had enough of the run flats on the crummy roads and potholes near me and want a smoother ride. The new size tyres save a few hundred quid, taking the sting out of replacing 4 new tyres bought in the last year.

On stock alloys no rubbing ..your 8j rim is arguably a bit narrow but not way out depending on what / whose tyres you are fitting

The wider tyre will help address the imbalance in circumferences front and rear ..ideally should be within 1% and not more than 2%

Thanks for the info, it’s appreciated. The wheels are 296, right now I’m playing with sizes to see if I can get under 2% difference, as new sizes 255/35 and 235/35 is 2.14%. However, changing sizes increases the cost, so it’s debatable whether it’s worth changing from the stock size, as that was purely to save a few quid!

I find this chart handy for tyre sizing.

Thanks for the chart, it's really useful and over advice, I went with 225/40/19 to match the back at 225/35/19 - a 0.6% difference. They are overall a few mph wrong, but this is roughly making the speedo correct.

The road are really poor roads here, so a little bit extra on the wall is a good thing.
