Cheers Sam, I think I'll grab that then. Was the item you bought the same as the one in the link I posted?

The issue with the volume baffles me, there isn't really a good reason as to why this should be affected. It seems like some people reckon there's an issue and other's don't. Very weird.
I contacted him direct and he gave me a link, so I was 100% sure it was correct. Mine looks the same as the link you posted, but I know there are some resistors etc so you want to get the right one.

EDIT: Although he states "This is not a GENERIC item like most, this is made PURELY for the Z4 & X5", so I imagine it'd work no problem.

I've ordered a cable off Fruity, coming with pins to be added into existing plug to maintain Bluetooth.

Already got the air vents out and head unit out waiting for the cable - fingers crossed it will be tomorrow.

I'll let you know the result.

Fruity cable works a treat and retains Bluetooth. Great customer service with help and advice - highly recommended.

When I removed the outer casing for the plug "C" I was expecting to see numbers stamped on the plug, but no. I needed to find pins 3,4 and 10 for Red/3, White/4 and Black/10 and found the attached diagram. BT uses pins 6 and 12:

Just need to decide where/how to route the cable.

I suspect that the crimped wires are not all the way in. There should be a distinct "click" as they locate in the plug.

Hello, I would like to retrofit this in my 2006 3.0si, picture below.
I need:
1. 2007 cover with hole for AUX-IN socket (under the A/C panel unit)#51459128397
2. AUX-IN socket #84109237655
3. the wire - can this be #61129172021?
Can you help me finding proper OEM number for the wire?

Hi, today I took out my head unit to connect the AUX cable. There was no free slots left so I unplugged the black one on the corner and I have connected the aux cable:

But after connectig it, I cant find it in the menu :( :

Does that mean that I can't have aux or I have some shi**y cable and I should buy one from Fruity?
Don't know if there's a difference but I have CD changer but I won't use it if I have AUX.

Does the cable have anything inline? Like a resistor covered in tape or similar?

Chances are its a cheap cable that doesn’t, and that’s the bit that enables the AUX on the menu. Talk to fruity and explain, he’ll sort you out

Ok, I have installed cable from fruity and it works now. The problem I have now is the screwing back and alignment of the head unit.
It doesn't fit very well, 2 bolts are screwed 100% but it does not fit :|. Does anybody know how to do it correctly? I was unscrewing and screwing it back for 3 times and still the same :/

I'd say something is in the way and pushing the bottom out. when you push in, you're just bending the facia.

Take it out and check it's clear/move the cables about.

Just wanted to post a recommendation for fruity cables after recieving great service from them. For £13.99 I got a cable delivered swiftly with fitting instructions for my '06 e86 with sat nav. Everything went together easily, works well and sounds great.

I decided to mount it in the panel underneath the heater controls, similar to the factory option on later cars. Rory @ fruity cables even offered to replace the nut that attaches the aux port to the panel after I ham-fistedly stripped the thread during installation!!

Dont know if this has been said earlier, but there is no need to take the vent and stereo out. Just remove the plate under the ac and vent buttons and stick your hand up and release the connection. Its long enough to pull down and connect what you want into.
